When BIC Norwood, North America’s number one supplier of promotional products, engaged Splinter to develop unique branding concepts for new high-end catalog designs, we rolled up our sleeves and got our hands dirty.
Splinter was tasked with the challenge of attracting a younger, more diverse audience by rejuvenating and modernizing the typical monthly calendar – to create distinct print collateral to be proudly displayed in the home or office.
To differentiate the new products, we used various graphic enhancements, unique shapes and sizes, and extraordinary construction and technology.
We worked with artists and photographers from around the world to source and secure licensing for distinguishing imagery that was sure to make these calendars stand out. Literally.
Projects included a focus on ethnic – specifically Hispanic, African American and Asian – and generational markets. Calendar themes included a self-standing sushi tent menu, a Chinese takeout box, a papel picado, and tin nicho frames, just to name a few. We collaborated with artists like South African illustrator, Robin Gombert, and others closer to home like Tucson-based illustrator Regina Lord.
Over the years, BIC continues to inspire us to flex our creative muscles and turn out some pretty amazing collateral.
